Questo lavoro è indicato per una classe quinta, i cui alunni dovrebbero avere già acquisito una certa dimestichezza nella lettura e nella comprensione di brani in lingua. Oltre ad aiutare ad apprendere il lessico specifico relativo alla festività di Pasqua, il brano agevola un confronto culturale tra paesi anglosassoni e Italia. Suggerirei di proseguire nel seguente modo:
1 – utilizzare la L1 per introdurre l’argomento e sondare quali ricordi relativi alla Pasqua i bambini ricordano dagli anni precedenti;
2 – presentare, con l’ausilio di immagini, la terminologia specifica (bonnet, Easter Bunny, chocolate eggs, …)
3 – invitare gli alunni a leggere in autonomia il testo qui di seguito riportato (non interveniamo a dare spiegazioni dei termini che eventualmente essi non conoscono: è bene che si sforzino di cogliere da soli il significato generale);
4 – chiediamo ai bambini quello che hanno capito;
5 – rileggiamo insieme il brano e, ora, diamo spiegazione degli eventuali termini sconosciuti.
Dopo questo lavoro di comprensione, può essere utile, per un confronto culturale, stendere una tabella e, in due colonne differenti, scrivere uguaglianze e diversità nel modo di festeggiare la Pasqua in Italia e in England/USA (sotto ho riportato sia la tabella vuota sia quella completata).
